The Goldenwest Swap Meet has a more eclectic selection of vendors than other more commercial swap meets; it is more like hybrid flea market – Farmer’s Market – discount superstore.  Vintage records and clothing between fresh local produce and inexpensive cell phone accessories.

Peter’s Landing is part of Huntington Harbor and is located in the newly-incorporated area of Sunset Beach.  Being so near to the ocean and harbor, there is 2-hour “boat parking” in the Guest Docks and a marine supply store on-site.  More than 60 vendors offer fresh vegetables, fruit, plants and flowers, gourmet specialty food, and hand-made crafts.  Children will love the petting zoo, pony rides, and mini-choo-choo-train that travels around the shopping center’s parking lot.

Orange County’s #1 Weekly Street Fair and Certified Farmer’s Market.  Every Tuesday night Historic Main Street in downtown Huntington Beach becomes a pedestrian-only street fair for 3 blocks between Pacific Coast Highway and Orange Avenue.  The weekly event features live entertainment and family-friendly activities (live music, face painting, magicians, etc.) in addition to a fantastic Famer’s Market, unique merchant and artist vendors, and a wide selection of food and beverage stalls.  Each week free special events are offered around a monthly theme.

The Huntington Beach Downtown Art Walk, held on the 3rd Thursday of each month, features emerging and student artists with unique and unusual pieces and installations.  Downtown businesses play host to pop-up art galleries for one night each month, encouraging the public to enjoy art in comfortable, accessible environment.  

FREE and OPEN to the public, this monthly themed art show features artist displays in restaurants and stores throughout downtown Huntington Beach. 

February’s showcase is based on the theme “We Love HB”.

The Huntington Beach Art Center (HBAC) is a community arts and cultural center serving Huntington Beach and the Southern California region.  The Center presents the works of local, regional, national, and international artists producing in all media.  The HBAC hosts free cultural events in addition to art exhibitions.

             January 18th – February 23rd, “Centered on the Center”
            
Group show featuring nearly 200 artists and 400 works in a variety of styles and media.

Founded in 1995, the Windows Gallery is located in the Huntington Beach Central Library & Cultural Center tucked behind the Friends of the Library Book Sale area. Tall windows facing west and north offer beautiful views of the lakes, fountains, trees, and animal life found in Huntington Beach Central Park.  Panels can be rented by local artists to display and sell their artwork when a curated exhibition is not on the walls.

The Saturday FunRoll is a weekly meet-up of rollerbladers and skating enthusiasts of all ages.  The group begins their ride at 10:30am near the Amphitheatre (just north of HB Pier) and heads South on the bike trail towards Newport Beach, doubling back and ending back up at the Pier around lunchtime.  Approximately 16 miles round-trip.  Protective gear is encouraged.  Dwight’s Concession Stand (just south of the Pier) offers skate rental with protective gear.

Shipley Nature Center occupies an 18-acre fenced-in natural environment within Huntington Beach Central Park.  The Center includes 4,000 feet of well-maintained trails that meander through several habitats including oak woodlands, Torrey pines, meadows, and Blackbird Pond -- a natural freshwater wetland with mature willows and sycamores.  Within the Nature Center is a 1,500 sq. ft. Interpretive Building with exhibits on local wildlife and ecology.  Shipley Nature Center also hosts occasional public events related to conservation, ecology, and nature studies.
